Room Attendant (Housekeeper)

Department: Housekeeping / Room Attendants

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Housekeeping Manager and Executive Housekeeper / Supervisor

Work Quota: 40 hours per week, including overtime as necessary

To ensure high-level maintenance and cleanliness across all hotel areas, including guest rooms, living spaces, showers, bathrooms, and public spaces. The Room Attendant is expected to clean at least 12 rooms within an 8-hour shift according to hotel standards.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain hygiene in rooms, terraces, lobby, corridors, stairs, halls, wellness areas, elevators, offices, reception, toilets, and public spaces.
  • Safekeep and responsibly use the assigned universal floor key.
  • Prepare cleaning trolley with required materials; replace linens and towels.
  • Arrange beds and room inventory according to standards.
  • Disinfect bathrooms, refill sanitary items, remove trash, dust furniture, and vacuum carpets.
  • Handle minibar/waste process and remove empty bottles as required.
  • Double-check room quality and readiness before release.
  • Report mechanical/electrical issues immediately; perform minor fixes (e.g., lightbulb changes).
  • Report lost & found items promptly to the supervisor.
  • Coordinate laundry service requests from guests.
  • Keep records of irregularities and damages in rooms/public areas.
  • Forward guest complaints/remarks to the supervisor.
  • Use hotel equipment carefully; keep uniform clean and professional.
  • Apply workplace safety, hygiene, fire, and PPE standards.
  • Protect personal data in line with Law L-06/082 and internal policy.
  • Prepare monthly reports and perform additional assigned departmental tasks.

Educational Qualifications and Professional Skills

  • Vocational secondary education in Tourism and Hospitality.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and professional maintenance tools.
  • Friendly and approachable communication with guests and colleagues.
  • Eagerness to learn, cultural awareness, and a helpful attitude.
  • Practical problem-solving and situational handling skills.
  • Good Albanian communication and basic English communication.
  • Teamwork, discipline, initiative, and accountability.
  • Ability to work independently, neatly, and responsibly under pressure.
  • Calm, structured, guest-oriented work style with flexible and diplomatic behavior.

Work Experience and Training

  • At least 5 years of experience in housekeeping in 4/5-star hotels (please confirm exact requirement if needed).
  • Professional housekeeping/maintenance training certificates preferred.
  • Demonstrated resilience and ability to perform under pressure.
